Tell us a little about yourself and your background. How did your upbringing influence your passion for food?
"I have been a chef for 29 years, and my wife has been a nurse for 25 years. Throughout our careers, we have both been committed to promoting physical and mental well-being. Our professions may be different, but they share a common purpose—caring for people and helping them lead healthier, happier lives.
My passion for food was shaped by my upbringing and the role that meals played in bringing family and community together. Growing up, I learned that food is much more than nourishment; it is a way to connect with others, celebrate traditions, and show care. Those early experiences inspired me to pursue a career as a chef and to create dishes that not only taste great but also contribute to overall wellness.
Working in the culinary industry for nearly three decades has reinforced my belief that good food can have a positive impact on both physical health and mental well-being. My wife's experience as a nurse has further strengthened our shared understanding of the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Together, we have always valued the connection between food, health, and community, which continues to guide both our personal and professional lives,"

What was your journey to Cartersville, and how did you decide to open Tandoori Table?
"Our journey to Cartersville was driven by a desire to share our passion for authentic food and create a welcoming place where people could gather and enjoy great meals. After many years in our respective professions, we felt it was the right time to pursue our dream of owning a restaurant.
Starting a business for the first time was both exciting and overwhelming. There were many unknowns, and navigating the process of opening a restaurant can be intimidating. However, one of the things that made a tremendous difference was the support we received from the Cartersville community and local officials. From obtaining permits and licenses to answering questions and guiding us through each step of the process, the town officials were incredibly helpful and encouraging.
Their willingness to assist showed us that Cartersville and Bartow County genuinely want local businesses to succeed and flourish. That support gave us confidence and reinforced our decision to open Tandoori Table here. We are grateful to be part of such a welcoming community and are proud to contribute to the vibrant local dining scene,".

Was restaurant ownership always a goal of yours, or did that passion develop over time?
"Restaurant ownership was not always a specific goal of mine, but my passion for food and hospitality developed very early in life and grew stronger throughout my career. Over the past 29 years as a chef, I have had the opportunity to work in many different kitchens, learn from talented people, and serve countless guests. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for the way food brings people together and creates lasting memories.
As my career progressed, the idea of owning a restaurant became more than just a dream—it became a way to share my own vision, creativity, and values with the community. My wife and I spent many years building our careers and gaining experience before deciding to take that leap. Her 25 years as a nurse and my years in the culinary industry gave us a strong foundation and a shared commitment to serving others.
Opening Tandoori Table was the culmination of that journey. It allowed us to combine our passions for hospitality, health, community, and authentic cuisine into something meaningful that we could build together. While becoming restaurant owners was a significant step, it was really the natural evolution of a lifelong dedication to caring for people through food and service,"

Are there any dishes on the menu that hold special meaning to you or reflect your personal story?
"Yes, there are several dishes on our menu that hold special meaning to me because they reflect both my heritage and my journey as a chef. Indian cuisine is deeply rooted in family traditions, and many of the recipes and flavors we serve today are inspired by meals that brought family and friends together throughout my life.
One dish that is particularly meaningful is our Tandoori Chicken. It represents the essence of traditional Indian cooking—the use of fresh ingredients, aromatic spices, and the centuries-old technique of cooking in a tandoor oven. It is a dish that reminds me of the authentic flavors I grew up with and the importance of preserving culinary traditions.
Our curries also hold a special place in my heart because they showcase the diversity and richness of Indian cuisine. Each recipe tells a story through its blend of spices and regional influences, reflecting the depth and complexity of the culture.
More than any single dish, the menu as a whole represents my 29-year journey as a chef. Every item reflects my commitment to authenticity, quality, and hospitality. Sharing these dishes with our guests allows me to share a part of my story, culture, and passion for food with the Cartersville community,"

What has been the most rewarding part of sharing Indian cuisine with the Cartersville community?
"The most rewarding part of sharing Indian cuisine with the Cartersville community has been seeing people discover new flavors and embrace a cuisine that may have been unfamiliar to them. There is something very special about watching a guest try Indian food for the first time and then return with friends and family because they enjoyed the experience.
We have been fortunate to meet people from all walks of life, and food has become a bridge that brings everyone together. It is incredibly gratifying to hear guests tell us that a dish reminded them of travels abroad, introduced them to a new favorite flavor, or changed their perception of Indian cuisine altogether.
What has touched us most is the warmth and support we have received from the community. Cartersville has welcomed us with open arms, and many of our customers have become regular guests and friends. Those relationships mean a great deal to us and make all the hard work worthwhile.
For my wife and I, Tandoori Table is about more than serving food—it is about sharing culture, creating connections, and making people feel welcome. Seeing our guests enjoy authentic Indian cuisine and become part of our restaurant family has been the greatest reward of all,"
